The annual Jyväskylän Kesä festival in July takes over the whole city and has a great deal of children and family oriented programme. The last day of the event is always dedicated to children. Activities and performances in the last years have included a circus school/workshop, parkour school, music theatre, puppet theatre, and clownery.
